The San Mateo Resource Conservation District (RCD), in partnership with the California Department of Parks and Recreation, is seeking an experienced contractor to implement a 415.1 acre forest health and fuel reduction project at Butano State Park, Pescadero, CA. This project encompasses 391.6 acres of mechanical mastication, 16 acres of understory hand thinning, and 52.9 acres of various overlapping treatments aimed at thinning moderate range diameter trees (approximately 8” – 36” DBH) to reduce competition and fuel load. Understory vegetation will generally be masticated, chipped on site and broadcast back into treatment areas, or lopped and scattered. Larger diameter trees may be chipped and hauled within reasonable proximity to be dumped within the project area, cut into logs and decked within proximity to the treatment area, or left on site to decompose, depending on site specific treatment specifications.
A mandatory pre-bid tour will be held at the project site. Attendance is required for all firms submitting proposals.
