The results from our water quality sampling of the first big rain of the season -“First Flush”- are finally here!

This is an important citizen science program where trained volunteers collect water samples at outfall pipes and creek mouths during the first big rain of the year to help characterize and understand pollution entering our beaches and coastal environments. We were lucky to have twelve fantastic volunteers out there this year in what turned out to be a pretty serious storm. Another huge thank you to our intrepid volunteers. We’re trying out a new method of sharing the results with you this year. Check out our virtual tour of the first flush sites here.

If you prefer to read the results in their classic format, you can download the presentation here.
