The San Mateo Resource Conservation District (RCD), in partnership with San Mateo County Department of Public Works (Department) welcomes contractors to bid on the Butano Creek Channel Stabilization and Habitat Enhancement at the Cloverdale Bridge Project (Project).
The Project is located approximately 3 miles south of the town of Pescadero in unincorporated San Mateo County, CA. The purpose of this request for bids is to select a contractor to address pier scour at Cloverdale Road Bridge and implement habitat and fish passage elements along a 625-foot stretch of Butano Creek. In order to achieve the goals of the project for this site, restoration actions will include: 1) raising the channel bed with engineered streambed material (ESM) along a 625-foot reach of Butano Creek, 2) installing rock slope protection around the bridge piers and streambanks directly adjacent and downstream of the bridge, 3) constructing rock buttress to repair a recent bank failure immediately upstream of the bridge on the north bank, 4) installing four approximately 50-foot-long habitat enhancement pools with large woody debris and boulders downstream of the bridge, and 5) conducting erosion control and revegetation activities.
