The San Mateo Resource Conservation District, in collaboration with California State Parks Santa Cruz District and Amah Mutsun Land Trust, welcomes contractors to bid on the Vegetation Management at Quiroste Valley Cultural Preserve Project to implement a multi-benefit vegetation management project to provide cultural, ecological, and fire resiliency benefits over a 16-acre unit.
The purpose of this request for bids is to select a contractor for the Project to conduct the following activities:
- Variable density thinning of Douglas fir forest and burn pile creation (1.4 acres)
- Tree pruning within canopy openings (1.4 acres)
- Mastication of shrubs within shrubland and grassland (9.65 acres)
Implementation of these measures will manage woody encroachment into coastal prairie, encourage a mosaic of habitat types, and improve fire resiliency.
A mandatory pre-bid tour will be held at the project site. Attendance is required for all firms submitting proposals.
