The San Mateo Resource Conservation District, in partnership with the County of San Mateo Department of Public Works, welcomes contractors to bid on the Wurr Road at Bloomquist Creek (Site 263) Culvert Repair Project and the Wurr Road at Peterson Creek (Site 268) Culvert Repair Project in San Mateo County, California.
These projects will stabilize failing road crossings on Bloomquist Creek and Peterson Creek, tributaries to Pescadero Creek within the Pescadero–Butano Watershed. The existing culverts and associated fill have deteriorated and no longer provide safe, reliable access. Project implementation will restore safe road access for residential, administrative, and emergency purposes while reducing chronic and future erosion and sediment delivery to downstream waterways.
Upon completion, the projects will improve water quality and habitat conditions in the Pescadero–Butano Watershed, benefiting native fish and other riparian species, while supporting long-term infrastructure resilience for the County and the traveling public.
Major work elements at both sites include removal of existing culverts and unstable fill material; installation of new culverts designed to meet hydraulic and environmental requirements; and reconstruction of the road prism using engineered fill and road surfacing.
This request for bids encompasses both sites, and bidders must demonstrate the equipment capacity, qualified personnel, technical expertise, and availability necessary to complete work at both locations. Bids must include work for Site 263 and Site 268.
Due to site access and logistical constraints, construction activities at Bloomquist Creek and Peterson Creek shall not occur concurrently. The selected contractor will be responsible for sequencing work to ensure construction is limited to one site at a time and for coordinating schedules accordingly.
A mandatory pre-bid tour will be held at the project site. Attendance is required for all bidders. RSVPs for the pre-bid tour are required.
